Rick Looser, President and COO of The Cirlot Agency, recently completed his second semester of teaching Public Relations Campaigns at the University of Alabama – the final class required for all PR majors. During the course of the semester, the class was split into five teams, or “agencies,” that competed against one another to develop campaigns for their client “It Follows You,” an online reputation management effort.
The five groups pitched their ideas to a team of judges from The Cirlot Agency during their final class. The winning campaign came from team Clear Stem Solutions. Instead of focusing on preventative tactics implying “Don’t let this be you”, the campaign focused on what to do moving forward when you have past problems or unflattering experiences that follow you online. The campaign’s tone is serious, yet positive and highlights the fact that your online reputation may follow you but it does not have to define you.
