Recap of AUSA's Annual Meeting & Exposition in Washington, D.C.

For members of The Cirlot Agency, attending the AUSA Annual Meeting & Exposition is almost like a homecoming. We have attended these events annually for well over a decade, and each year we are able to reconnect with industry leaders, media and fellow patriots at what AUSA describes as “the largest land power exposition and professional development forum in North America.” Year after year, AUSA inspires by showcasing the best industry has to offer our Army. This year’s theme, “Win in a Complex World,” featured those assets and intelligence that allow the U.S. to protect its citizens and the ideals of freedom throughout the world.

Among the assets displayed this year was Cirlot client Bell Helicopter’s V-280 tilt rotor aircraft, complete with its complex avionics package, which is being developed for the Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) program. Quite impressive!

Textron Systems, another Cirlot client, featured everything from its massive Commando four-wheeled armored vehicle, down to its ingenious technology, an imperative asset that is not even visible to the naked eye.

Yet another client, Elbit Systems of America, featured its FIREFLY family of lightweight modular power amplifiers for radio communications, among other highly technical advances aimed at increasing soldier performance, and allowing them to return home safely.

In addition to these and thousands more awe-inspiring products, AUSA allows its attendees from around the world to participate in presentations, panel discussions and workshops, as well as hold important business meetings.
Here are a few quick facts about the show:

  • Over 26,000 people from around the world attend.
  • 600 displays are located in five halls covering both levels of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
  • There is close to 300,000 net square feet of display space.
  • Nine international pavilions are located on the show floors, including: Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Korea, Turkey and the United Kingdom

As this year’s show came to a close, we were again reminded of how important it is to keep the U.S.’s greatest asset – the men and women of our military – equipped and ready to defend our freedom. At The Cirlot Agency, we will continue to do our part in helping our clients make that happen.
